randoms this time...a retrospective look at Small 23 comng soon...
Ghostface Killah (feat. Ne-Yo) - Back Like That. "Fishscale"
is the best hip-hop album of the year,
down. maybe even the bast of the last few years. Ghostface
continues to bang out hits year
year while the rest of the Wu-Tang just sits idle. James Mercer - Gone For Good. Taken from this solo
in-studio he did at some Oregon radio station
a year or two
back, worth making a dub of if you can find it online. The Beach Boys - How She Boogalooed It. Brian Wilson had
totally lost his damn mind at this point,
and we're all
better off for it.
to add, via my much smarter friend Trott: "that song ("How She
Boogalooed It") was written
Beach Boys, none of which were Brian Wilson. That record (Wild Honey)
featured lots of
had little to do with Brian Wilson, who was really quite far gone by
then." So apparently
the only thing
I had right was Brian Wilson was bonkers. ) The Cuts -
Demons. I've always been "meh" on local rockers The Cuts, but
their newest record "From
Here On Out"
really brings the sauce. The Radio Dept. - Where Damage Isn't Already Done. Great,
underrated Swedish group that have
great albums of pop songs; this is from their first, but I got nothing
but great things
to say about
all of the releases.

Welcome to my new desktop photo.
TRIP TO BODIE
Here are a few outside shots in B&W for your perusal.
And one funny photo of Chelsea wearing my hat that is about 4000 sizes
too big for her.
In other news, my beloved A's are breaking my heart right now - after
sweeping the Twins in the ALDS, they
are down 2 games to the Tigers in the ALCS dropping both of those at
home. Cross your fingers and hope
for the best people!!!
random. I was going to post an old-school country mix but I
got to lazy to sort out the tracks
I wanted for it. Maybe some day...
Band of Horses - The Funeral. One of the best records of the
year. Graham Fellows - Jilted John. Great 70's joke punk. Mando Diao - You Can't Steal My Love. The only good song
on this album. Mogwai - Travel Is Dangerous. Another of the best records
on the year, a real return to form for these kids. The Jam - In The City. Old Jam = New Hottness. The James Gang - Funk Number 49. Greatest song ever?
