I don't really have much to say right now...I've been engrossed in A's
baseball since the season started and
that is filling up a lot of my free time. Not taking many photos
either, mostly out of laziness. So here is a photo
of a sea-faring horse holding a cat to fill the void:
There is a review of the new National record above, a shitload of new
movie reviews (being unemployed means
you watch a lot of movies), and there are a handful of photo journal
entries coming on the next go-around.
Downloadables.
Not feeling too wordy, but good music is good music...
Boris - Starship
Narrator (with Michio Kurihara). Great
straight-forward rock music from what is normall a
very odd band. Midlake - Branches.
One of the best records of last year easily, but I'm just now getting
into it.
Bonus: Head Home. Pink Mountaintops - Cold
Criminals. I've loved everything this band has put
out; they are all over the map
but every type of song they try to pull off, they are
successful. Seu George - Oh!
You Pretty Things. You already know all about this I'm
sure. Spank Rock - Bump.
These kids are blog darlings apparently. It's pretty good hip
hop/dance music though
I can't say exactly why.
Bonus: What It Look Like. The Black Heart Procession - Not
Just Words. I've been on a bit of kick for these
morose cats lately.
Off of their newer album "The Spell". The Coup - My
Favorite Mutiny. One of the finest products to ever
come out of Oakland. Other than the
A's of course.
