A van spotted parked outside of the beer cave in Marion...gotta love
the South.
In other news...found a few more photos from the ghost town of Bodie
that we visited...was it a year ago? Something like
that, and I'm too lazy to look it up. I guess these would be the
"B" shots, as they didn't get posted the first time around.
But something about that place...even the bad photos are interesting.
"In
the anals of history people are going to be talking about three
things: the discovery of fire, invention of the submarine,
and the
Flint, Michigan Mega Bowl."
Blonde Redhead - SW.
Great song off of a highly disappointing album.
Handsome Furs - Dead
+ Rural. For those not aware, Handsome Furs is a side
project of Wolf Parade, and they
sound like a poppy version of Wolf Parade.
Bonus: Hearts Of Iron.
Pink Floyd - Fearless.
One of my very favorite Floyd songs of all time, which is saying a lot
cause they got a lot of
damn fine tracks.
Rogue Wave - Lake
Michigan. Coupla tracks from the third record of
the East Bay's finest pop band.
Bonus: Like I Needed.
The Avett Brothers - Living
Of Love. I can't believe how popular this band is here
in North Carolina. They're pretty
good, and they're local, but it just seems odd that they would achieve
a level of success so much greater than the
groups I consider the local favorites.
Bonus: Salina.
Thee More Shallows - Night
At The Knight School. Speaking of the East Bay, here
is another one of the best
groups around there or anywhere...now that I think of it, all of the
best Bay Area bands seem to be from the East Bay.
Bonus: The Dutch Fist.
