Girl Group Sounds - Lost & Found - Best of Disc 3...
Not as strong as the 2nd
disc, but still a few gems on there...
Jackie DeShannon - Should
I Cry. She collaborated with about a million folks in the
music industry, and was
one of the few female performers
of the era that not only wrote much of her material but helped write songs
for others to perform as well.
She had a number of songs that were more famous than this one, but

You Be My Love. This was the first of only two singles issued
by this LA-based girl group
with doo-wop leanings. Given
how great this is, I find that rather surprising. The Ikettes - I'm
Blue (The Gong-Gong Song). Best known nowadays as the backing
group for Ike & Tina, but
this ever-changing line-up actually
had a number of hits of their own back then. You'll get the repeating

in your head almost instantly, I promise. Twiggy - When
I Think Of You. See, it wasn't just the movie stars and
models of today trying to make music...
even back in the sixties supermodel
Twiggy gave soul singing a go...and it's actually not a bad song. Wanda Jackson - Funnel
Of Love. Aww man, that voice is too rad. The bio reads
that it was Elvis who insisted
Wanda try rock-n-roll after a
steady diet of country. After making her name in the rockabilly circuit,
she cut a few
soul-ish tracks in the early
...I actually had a couple of other songs to upload here, but now I
can't find them on my computer. Next time my dears.
