Trip to Beaufort - May 2010
Decided to take a weekend trip to Beaufort for a bout of music and
looky-looing.

Beaufort is right by the ocean. You know, water and boats and
shit.

They like boats so much they even put them on the gates of their fancy
houses.

Obligatory self portrait.

the largest house in Beaufort!

"If you ain't a FOREMAN...you ain't SHIT!" Ain't that the
truth.

One of the main reasons we came to Beaufort was to see our friends The Rosebuds perform at the
Beaufort Music Festival.
They were awesome as always.

At one point they invited a bunch of random children up on stage to
perform the "Bow to the Middle" dance, only they danced
around haphazardly and completely out of rhythm with the song.
Get with it you lot!

The boat off which R.E.M.'s "Nightswimming" took place. True
story.

The next day we decided to take a boat ride out to Cape Lookout to
stare at the lighthouse. And take a bunch of photos of it.

The old lighthouse keeper's house, now a museum.

Hey a lighthouse!

The boardwalk to the beach on the other side of the island.

I'd heard you'll often find seashells just scattered around on beaches,
and now I finally had my proof!

I think I see a lighthouse, just over there!

Waiting for the boat back to the mainland. The boat you see
there, that ain't the boat.

We boated up kinda close to Mare Island cause there are wild horses on
it. There is a wild horse in this photo, see if you can
find it. It's like "Where's Waldo", only the horse isn't wearing
a jaunty scarf.

Back to the mainland, and regular life. There are no lighthouses
in Cary. No horses with jaunty scarves either.
